Well, what a surprise to see this thread!

Firstly, thanks so much for your get well wishes. I have had that kicked in the ribs feeling for a few days now and also have a stomach bug. However, compared to some on the forum, my problems are few.

Could I ask that you spare a thought today for Lylie, who is really suffering. She had a rheummy appt yesterday and had to go on the bus. She had both her knees injected. Thankfully she bumped into her son outside the hospital and he took her home. Last night, she was hardly able to move. Bear in mind that she is also undergoing chemo whch is doing the most dreadful things to her body.

Liz Mines has also been on my mind a lot recently. She is such a wonderful lady, so positive, so full of hope and compassion, always a caring, listening friend, but so very ill.

Jenni, also, is very deserving of our special thoughts on this New Year's Eve. Quite apart from her multiple illnesses, she has so many other things to contend with and I don't think she will be offended if I say she is one hell of a woman!

So many others on the forum - too many to name them all - are deserving of special thoughts. Carol, after her horrendous time last year with an infected hip and several ops - yet she has never moaned or grumbled about her problems. Mary - diagnosed with MS earlier this year and still trying to come to terms with it all. And so many many more.

I'll toast all my forum friends tonight - but maybe in water (or orange)! Praying each of us has a better year in 2010 and for the courage to face whatever it brings.

Love to you all
Jeanxxxxxx

Sorry to hear you have caught the dreaded bug Jean and that Arthur is attacking your ribs at the same time.

Will be thinking of all forum members tonight when we celebrate the new year. I can't believe what Lylie is going through on top the fall she had as well. Please send her best wishes if you speak to her Jean.

Take care.

Oh JEAN!

DId not know you were poorly. So sorry to read that you are run down.

Do take a step back from supporting people if you need to take time to be well yourself.

Much love and PLEASE look after yourself.

DEAR FRIEND JEAN,

You are one hell of a woman yourself! As one of the constants on this forum, you are always to be found reassuring, welcoming, sympathetic and caring. When we are frustrated and hurting, you are calm and kind, reassuring us with no word about what you are enduring every day of your own life! You are one of a kind my friend!

Wishing you all the very best for the year ahead with all love and best wishes.

Lots of love,

Eleanor x

Hi Jean

Sorry, not been on the forum for a couple of days so I missed this, but I've already seen elsewhere that you are on the mend. Hope you continue to improve and that 2010 is good to you and yours. Thank you for drawing our attention to all those other special people who really deserve our prayers, it's so easy to forget about people when they're not posting regularly.

Anthea xx
